Welcome to the gym for people who hate the gym

The Nourished Movement Center is a private fitness studio in Seattle's Maple Leaf neighborhood. It’s not like other gyms, it’s a cool gym (no for real we have great AC). There's no mirrors to check yourself in, no gym bros throwing weights, no 30 day challenges, no unspoken dress code. What there is: a space where you can show up exactly as you are — in whatever body you have, with whatever relationship to movement you're carrying — and just begin.

I'm Anna. I'm a certified personal trainer, a Certified Body Trust® Provider, a mom, a person with ADHD and hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and someone who has spent a long time finding her way back to herself through movement. I built this practice because I spent years working inside traditional gym spaces working under a system *(toxic fitness culture) that I eventually realized wasn't working — not for most of the people it claimed to serve, and not for me. I wanted to build something different.

You don't need the right gear, the right skills, or the right body to be here. You just need a desire to move — and a willingness to see what's possible when movement stops being something you do to yourself and starts being something you do with yourself.

My Approach

I AM AN INCLUSIVE STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH.

As a coach I believe in wellness based fitness over weight centered fitness. I cannot tell someone’s health status based on their body size and believe that all bodies are worthy of love and care.

I trust your body wisdom and will work collaboratively with you to find a relationship to movement that feels nourishing. While I have expertise in exercise, you are the expert on your body and your experience.

I am actively Anti-Oppression and work to examine my own identity as well as work to dismantle systems within our society create a more equitable world for all.

When training, I use a functional strength approach, which means exercise that will help you move well, feel well, and prevent injury in your day to day life.

I tailor my workouts to inspire my clients and pull from my diverse exercise background. I use everything from bodyweight to barbells to push my clients physically and mentally.

I believe that training should be challenging not punishing and, hot damn, it can even be fun.

I am a personal trainer focused on your wellness and getting you feeling VITAL. That means I look beyond just body and performance and see YOU. A whole, glorious, potential-filled human.
